Beholding the Incomparable God

Passage: Isaiah 40

Isaiah wrote at a shocking time of disaster and judgement. God’s people had completely failed and they were on the cusp of the unthinkable – exile from their promised land. However, this failure of God’s people is not a sign of God’s failure – for within Isaiah are some of the most stunning and hope-filled promises in the Bible. And the message that God’s not weak, God’s not defeated, God’s not silent, God’s not disinterested, God’s not brutish, God’s not forgotten his plans… so what we all need to be hearing. Isaiah in a special way brings this out as we meet this incomparable and majestic God.
